Lion & Light Featured in BuzzFeed: The Mini Diaper Bag Editors Keep Noticing

When I created the Jetsetter Mini Diaper Bag, I wasn’t trying to make a smaller version of the traditional diaper bag.

I was trying to solve a problem I had experienced myself as a mom: there comes a point when you don’t need to pack half the nursery every time you leave the house—but you still need diapers, wipes, snacks, your phone, your wallet and all the little things that somehow become essential when you’re out with kids.

I wanted a bag that could carry those essentials without feeling bulky, and one that actually felt like my bag rather than another piece of baby gear.

Apparently, that idea resonated beyond our Lion & Light community.

Since 2025, BuzzFeed has featured the Lion & Light Jetsetter Mini Diaper Bag three separate times in its parenting and shopping coverage—from products that make getting out of the house with a baby easier to recommendations for first-time parents and even its 2026 Prime Day baby picks.

For a small, mom-owned brand, seeing the Mini repeatedly recognized alongside established parenting products has been a pretty special full-circle moment.

It Started With Making Parenting On the Go Easier

Our first BuzzFeed feature appeared in June 2025 in “33 Problem-Solving Products Parents Say Make Taking Your Baby On The Go Easy And Doable.”

The roundup focused on products designed to solve a very familiar parenting challenge: simply getting out of the house with your kids.

BuzzFeed highlighted Lion & Light as a woman-owned small business and featured the Jetsetter Mini as a compact alternative for parents who don't want to carry a large backpack everywhere they go.

And that is exactly why the Mini exists.

As babies grow into toddlers, what parents carry changes. You may no longer need multiple bottles, burp cloths and outfit changes every time you leave the house—but you're definitely not ready to walk out the door with just your phone and keys either.

The Jetsetter Mini was designed for that in-between stage.

It gives moms enough room for the things they actually need while keeping everything compact, organized and easy to reach.

Then BuzzFeed Included the Mini Among Its Picks for First-Time Parents

In March 2026, the Jetsetter Mini appeared on BuzzFeed again, this time in “38 Products For First-Time Parents That’ll Make The Whole Thing 1% Less Scary.”

The Mini was featured as an aesthetic, crossbody-style option for quick errands when parents don't need—or want—to carry a massive diaper bag. BuzzFeed specifically called out features including the easy-access wipes pocket, removable changing pad and removable phone pouch.

While we often talk about the Mini as a favorite for toddler moms, its compact design can be just as useful for new moms who prefer to pack light.

Because a small diaper bag doesn't have to mean sacrificing function.

The Jetsetter Mini includes thoughtful details designed specifically for life with kids, including:

  • A front easy-access wipes pocket

  • A removable phone and wallet pouch

  • A removable changing pad

  • A built-in key leash

  • An insulated interior pocket

  • Interior organization for everyday essentials

  • An adjustable crossbody strap

  • Lightweight, water-resistant quilted nylon

Instead of digging through one large compartment to find what you need, the essentials you reach for constantly have a place of their own.

That matters when you're holding a baby, chasing a toddler or trying to get through an errand with one free hand.

And Then Came Prime Day 2026

A few months later, we spotted Lion & Light in BuzzFeed again.

This time, the Jetsetter Mini was included in its 2026 Prime Day baby shopping guide, “There’s A Good Chance You’ll Find Your New Favorite Baby Product In This Prime Day Post.”

BuzzFeed once again highlighted the Mini's compact crossbody design and its easy-access parenting features, placing Lion & Light among its recommended baby and parenting products for Prime Day.

Even more exciting? The feature was also syndicated by Yahoo Shopping, giving our little bag another moment in the spotlight.

Three BuzzFeed features later, there's one theme that keeps coming up: the Mini makes it easier to carry what you need without carrying more than you need.

Why Moms Are Choosing Smaller Diaper Bags

Traditional diaper bags absolutely have their place—especially during the newborn stage, long days away from home or travel.

But parenting changes.

Eventually, you realize you don't need to bring everything with you to Target.

You need a couple of diapers. Wipes. A snack. Maybe a small toy. Your phone, cards and keys. And approximately seventeen random things your toddler hands you on the way out the door.

That's where a mini diaper bag or crossbody diaper bag can make everyday life feel a little lighter.

The Jetsetter Mini was created to sit somewhere between a purse and a full-size diaper bag: functional enough for mom life, compact enough for everyday life and stylish enough that you'll keep carrying it long after the baby stage.

It's also why one of our favorite customer reviews—the same review highlighted by BuzzFeed—comes from a mom of two who was simply tired of carrying a big backpack after one of her children was already potty trained.

That experience is incredibly familiar to us.

Sometimes you don't need another product that helps you carry more.

You need something that helps you carry less, better.

Designed by a Mom, for the Way Motherhood Actually Looks

Lion & Light was built around a simple idea: motherhood changes your life, but it doesn't have to erase your identity.

Our bags are designed to make the practical parts of parenting easier while still feeling like something you would choose to wear.

That means thoughtful organization without unnecessary bulk. Parenting-specific features without the traditional diaper-bag look. And designs that can move with you through different stages of motherhood.

Seeing BuzzFeed recognize the Jetsetter Mini once was exciting.

Seeing it appear three separate times has meant something more.

It's validation of the problem we originally set out to solve: moms shouldn't have to choose between carrying something functional and carrying something that feels like them.

And we'll happily keep designing for that space in between.
